چکیده
With the development of combined cycle engines, it is urgent to estimate more quickly and accurately flow capture capacity starting performance variable geometry inlets over a wide Mach number range. Based on field parameter fitting, two prediction methods for curved axisymmetric inlet with lip translation scheme have been proposed. The method based reference efficient than parameters-based method, as can predict distance corresponding coefficient entire working range without additional numerical calculations. Moreover, predicted by fitting throat inlet, relative error only 0.95% compared simulation. coefficient-based simple accurate predicting distances known number, 1.65% simulations. approaches overcome drawbacks standard iterative algorithms significantly enhance computational accuracy efficiency.

Three dimensional axisymmetric simulations of fluid instabilities in curved geometry
Numerical simulations for Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) and Richtmyer-Meshkov (RM) instabilities for three dimensional axisymmetric fluids have been successfully conducted by a front tracking method. In the first simulation, we consider single mode RT instability for an axially symmetric perturbed interface in a circular tube. We compare the computed bubble velocity with theory and laboratory experiment...
متن کاملPerformance Prediction Modeling of Axial-Flow Compressor by Flow Equations
Design models of multi- stage, axial flow compressor are developed for gas turbine engines. Axial flow compressor is one of the most important parts of gas turbine units. Therefore, its design and performance prediction are very important. One-dimensional modeling is a simple, fast and accurate method for performance prediction of any type of compressors with different geometries. In this appro...
متن کاملPrediction of turbulent flow in curved pipes
A finite-difference procedure is employed to predict the development of turbulent flow in curved pipes. The turbulence model used involves the solution of two differential equations, one for the kinetic energy of the turbulence and the other for its dissipation rate. The predicted total-velocity contours for the developing flow in a 180’ bend are compared with the experimental data. Predictions...
متن کاملEffect of Inlet Geometry on the Turbine Blade Tip Region Heat Transfer Coefficient and Effectiveness
An experimental investigation of the local film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient downstream of a row of elongated holes in a simulated axial turbine blade tip is presented. Film cooling is needed to protect the turbine blade tip region from high heat transfer rates, especially when cooling by convection is insufficient to keep the temperature distribution of the blade within ...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effects of Inlet Conditions and Nozzle Geometry on the Performance of Supersonic Separator Used for Natural Gas Dehumidification
Supersonic separators have found extensive applications in dehumidification of natural gases since 2003. Unlike previous studies, which have investigated the inlet conditions and nozzle geometry of supersonic separators for pure fluids, the present study employed a combination of momentum, heat, and mass transfer equations along with Virial equation of state (EOS) to inspect the effect of inlet...
